COURSE CURRICULUM

The BEng Civil and Environmental Engineering program offers a structured pathway to develop both technical expertise and practical experience in the field. In the first year, students build a strong foundation through modules covering civil engineering materials, structural mechanics, construction methods, CAD for civil engineers, land surveying, and applied mathematics, equipping them with essential analytical and design skills. The second year advances this knowledge with modules in fluid mechanics, structural design, highway engineering, geology, soil mechanics, concrete design, construction laboratories, and sustainable civil engineering, enabling students to understand complex engineering systems and their environmental impact. By the third year, the focus shifts to higher-level applications and professional practice, including construction project management, environmental protection engineering, geotechnical design, integrated group design, and an individual civil engineering project, fostering problem-solving, teamwork, and independent research skills. Throughout the course, students are encouraged to apply theoretical knowledge to practical scenarios, working on real-world design and construction challenges. The program emphasizes sustainability, safety, and environmental responsibility, preparing graduates for the technical and ethical demands of civil and environmental engineering.
