COURSE CURRICULUM

The three-year BA (Hons) Recording, Mixing and Production program at the London College of Music is designed to develop students into skilled and versatile music producers capable of working at a professional level in the industry. In the first year, students build a strong foundation in music production through modules such as music production, audio principles, portfolio development, popular music analysis, studio recording, and remix practice. These modules introduce technical skills, creative approaches, and critical listening, allowing students to develop a solid understanding of sound, recording techniques, and music analysis. The second year focuses on applied and collaborative skills, with modules including LCM record label, recording music, creative collaboration and innovation, research methods for record production, advanced DAW practice, and LCM Music Factory. This stage emphasizes real-world production workflows, collaboration with artists, and advanced technical proficiency in digital audio workstations. In the final year, students consolidate their expertise through advanced modules such as advanced audio processing techniques, mixing music, mastering music, mix analysis, and a major project. Graduates gain the skills to produce high-quality, commercially ready recordings and develop a professional portfolio that demonstrates creativity, technical mastery, and industry awareness. The program prepares students for careers in music production, sound engineering, audio post-production, and related creative roles, equipping them to succeed in today’s competitive music industry.
