COURSE CURRICULUM

This three-year music technology program is designed to develop students’ technical expertise and creative skills for careers in music production, sound design, and audio engineering. In the first year, students build a strong foundation through modules such as music production, audio principles, studio recording, live sound practice, popular music analysis, and portfolio development, combining practical skills with analytical understanding. The second year advances this knowledge with applied studio techniques, exploration of different sounds, grooves, and genres, production and release strategies, and sound for screen, alongside research methods for music technology. Students can also choose optional modules such as live sound production or participation in the LCM Music Factory, encouraging hands-on experience and collaboration. The final year focuses on professional and creative application, with a major project allowing students to demonstrate their technical proficiency and artistic vision. Modules such as creative sound for games, live event production, audio post-production, mixing for screen and broadcast, and experimental sound provide opportunities to specialize in areas of industry relevance while developing a professional portfolio. Across the program, students gain extensive experience with professional equipment and software, learning to combine technical skill with creativity and innovation. Graduates leave equipped with practical expertise, creative confidence, and the industry-ready skills necessary for diverse roles in music technology, production, and audio-related careers.
