COURSE CURRICULUM

The BA (Hons) Interior Architecture degree is structured to progressively develop students’ skills, knowledge, and professional readiness for a career in interior design and architecture. In the first year, students build a strong foundation through modules that introduce essential interior architecture skills, design studio practices, and visual communication techniques. They explore the principles of design culture and critical theory while engaging in practical studio projects that develop creativity and technical proficiency. The second year deepens this knowledge by focusing on professional and collaborative practices, design technologies, and the exploration of design identities. Students also engage with research methods and advanced critical theory to support analytical thinking and contextual understanding in design. This combination of practical, theoretical, and research-focused learning helps students prepare for complex design challenges. In the final year, students apply their accumulated knowledge through advanced projects such as design proposals, client-based projects, and a major design project. They also complete a context and rationale paper, demonstrating their ability to justify design decisions and apply critical thinking. By the end of the program, students emerge as confident, creative, and industry-ready interior architects, capable of delivering innovative, functional, and visually compelling spaces while demonstrating professional and research competence.
