COURSE CURRICULUM

The Fashion Industry degree at UWL equips students with the knowledge, skills, and professional experience needed to succeed in the dynamic and fast-paced global fashion sector. In the first year, students focus on developing a strong foundation in areas such as consumer experience, creative visual promotion, digital design skills, fashion and culture forecasting, and fashion image communication. These modules provide essential insights into the creative and analytical aspects of fashion, preparing students for more specialised study in later years. In the second year, the course emphasises professional development and industry practice, with modules covering fashion visual merchandising, fashion photography, fashion media and public relations, and social responsibility and sustainable practice. These opportunities allow students to gain hands-on experience and understand how ethical and sustainable considerations influence contemporary fashion. In the third year, students apply their learning to complex projects, undertaking research planning, fashion data analysis and storytelling, and working on external industry briefs. They also develop a professional portfolio and complete a major negotiated project, integrating creative, technical, and strategic skills. The combination of practical experience, industry engagement, and academic study ensures graduates leave well-prepared to pursue careers in fashion design, media, marketing, retail, and other related sectors.
