COURSE CURRICULUM

The Acting for Stage and Screen degree offers a progressive structure that develops students’ performance skills, creative expression and professional readiness across three years. In year one, students build a strong foundation by exploring acting as storytelling, using voice and movement for performance, and developing character creation techniques. Modules such as Performing Stories, Creating Character and Responding to Text provide essential skills in interpreting scripts, embodying roles and understanding performance as a communicative art form. Year two deepens this training with a focus on advanced performance contexts, including Performing Heightened Text and Performing with Emotion, alongside specialist skills in voice and movement for both stage and screen. Students also undertake a Documentary Performance Project, explore entrepreneurship in the Creative Enterprise module, and develop independence as artists through The Actor – Creator. In year three, the focus shifts to professional practice and industry engagement. Modules such as Performing with Technology and Production: Existing Repertoire integrate contemporary approaches with traditional performance, while Voice and Movement for Production refines practical technique. Students prepare for professional careers through Entering the Industry and bring together their learning in a Creative Project. This structured journey equips graduates with artistic versatility, technical expertise and career-focused skills.
