COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc Robotics and Autonomous Systems at Sussex is designed for full-time and part-time students, offering a comprehensive grounding in robotics, automation, and related technologies. Core modules provide a solid foundation, combining theoretical knowledge with practical skills. Students undertake an MSc project throughout the year, allowing them to apply learning to a significant independent research or development project. In the autumn term, teaching covers key subjects including Computer Aided Design, Control Engineering, Mechanics of Mechanisms and Robots, and Reawakening Mathematics, equipping students with essential engineering and analytical skills. Spring modules focus on Autonomous Vehicles and Robot Design and Implementation, giving students hands-on experience in designing, building, and programming robotic systems. The course also offers a range of optional modules to broaden learning and tailor the program to individual interests. Options include Business and Project Management, Human-Computer Interaction, Internet-of-Things and Embedded System Practice, Programming for Engineers, Adaptive Systems, Advanced Topics in Control of Electromechanical Systems, Embedded Systems and Sensors, Image Processing, Industrial Automation and Mechatronics, Machine Learning, and Wearable Technologies.
