COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc in Entrepreneurship and Innovation at Sussex combines core modules and optional courses to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of creating, managing, and growing innovative ventures. Core modules give all students a strong foundation, starting with autumn teaching in Design Thinking for Innovative Problem Solving, Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice, Leading, Managing and Developing People, and Managing Innovation, which equip students with essential skills for creative problem-solving, leadership, and innovation management. In the spring term, students study New Venture Creation and Simulation and Research Methods (International Management), focusing on applying entrepreneurial concepts in practice and developing research and analytical skills. The summer term is dedicated to the Research Project, allowing students to conduct independent research on topics relevant to entrepreneurship and innovation. Optional modules enable students to tailor their studies to specific interests, including Digital Transformations and Innovation, Marketing Management, Digital Marketing, Entrepreneurial Finance, Innovation in the Creative Economy, Managing Intellectual Property, New Product Development Strategy, and Social Entrepreneurship. This combination of theory, applied learning, and optional specializations equips graduates with the knowledge and practical skills to identify business opportunities, develop innovative solutions, manage ventures ethically, and succeed in entrepreneurial, managerial, or consultancy roles across diverse industries.
