COURSE CURRICULUM

The LLM in International Commercial Law combines core and optional modules to provide a comprehensive understanding of legal principles governing global business transactions and dispute resolution. Core modules give students a strong foundation in international commercial law and research skills. In the autumn term, students study Advanced Legal Research and Writing, Law of International Business Transactions, and Transnational Commercial Law, equipping them with the analytical, drafting, and problem-solving skills necessary for advising on complex cross-border deals. In the spring and summer terms, students undertake an LLM Dissertation, allowing them to explore a specialized topic in depth and apply legal theory to practical challenges. A wide range of optional modules enables students to tailor their learning to specific areas of interest, such as Economic Crime, Governance of the Global Digital Economy, International Commercial Arbitration, International Investment Law, Trade Law and the International System, Transnational Corporate Finance Law, and Regulating the Creative Industries. These options provide practical insights into emerging areas of law and contemporary challenges facing global commerce. The program equips graduates with both the theoretical knowledge and practical expertise to pursue careers in international law firms, corporate legal departments, consultancy, arbitration, or further academic research, while also developing the skills to navigate complex regulatory and commercial environments across borders.
