COURSE CURRICULUM

The Software Engineering BSc offers a structured, three-year program that builds both foundational and advanced skills in computing and software development. In the first year, students develop core knowledge in programming, mathematical concepts, computer systems, multimedia, data structures, algorithms, and professional skills, establishing a strong technical and analytical foundation. The second year advances this knowledge with modules on compilers, computer architecture, databases, program analysis, software engineering, operating systems, applied machine learning, computer networks, and data science, preparing students to design, build, and maintain complex software systems. In the final year, students undertake an individual project alongside modules in human-computer interaction, advanced software engineering, web applications, and the ESRS project, allowing them to apply their learning to real-world challenges. Students can also choose from a variety of options such as comparative programming, computer security, e-business, entrepreneurship, Web 3D applications, and theoretical limits of computation to tailor their studies to their interests and career goals. Across all years, the course emphasizes practical experience, problem-solving, teamwork, and communication skills, ensuring that graduates are equipped with both the theoretical knowledge and hands-on expertise needed to succeed in software engineering and computing roles.
