COURSE CURRICULUM

The Business Analytics BSc at the University of Sussex is a three-year program designed to equip students with the technical, analytical, and business skills needed to excel in a data-driven workplace. In Year 1, students establish a strong foundation through core modules such as Introduction to Business Analytics, Introduction to Economics, Introduction to Mathematics for Finance and Economics, Introduction to Financial Accounting, Introduction to Marketing, Introduction to Statistics, and Microeconomics 1. Options like Introduction to Business and Management or electives from the School for Progressive Futures allow students to tailor their learning to their interests. Year 2 builds on this foundation with modules including Consumer Behaviour, Introduction to Econometrics, Managing Operations, Mathematical Statistics, Marketing Analytics and Metrics, Data Coding and Visualization, Corporate and International Finance, and Applied Statistics for Finance and Economics, providing both analytical and applied skills for real-world problem solving. Year 3 focuses on advanced and applied topics, including Applied Econometrics, Entrepreneurship & Small Firms, Financial Econometrics, Business Analytics for Decision Making, and Economics and Data Science. Students can further specialise through options such as Research Methods for Managers, Strategy, Digital Transformation and Business Management, Digital Marketing, Financial Derivatives, Economics of Sports, and Corporate Social Responsibility, Sustainability and Business Ethics. Across the program, students gain proficiency in data analysis, econometrics, financial modelling, and business intelligence, preparing them for careers in business analytics, finance, marketing, and other sectors that rely on evidence-based decision-making.
