COURSE CURRICULUM

The Robotics and Mechatronics Engineering course provides a comprehensive foundation in electrical, mechanical, and control engineering, progressing from core principles to advanced robotic design and automation. In the first year, students build essential knowledge through modules in electrical circuits, engineering mathematics, mechanics, thermodynamics, materials, and computer-aided design, alongside programming for engineers and a practical Global Design Challenge. The second year deepens technical expertise with studies in fluid mechanics, power electronics, embedded systems, industrial automation, and mechatronics, supported by modules in professional skills and systems analysis and control. This stage focuses on integrating theory with real-world applications, preparing students for advanced engineering problem-solving. In the final year, students develop leadership and project management abilities through Business and Project Management and an Individual Project that applies their learning to innovative robotic systems. Advanced modules in control engineering, robot design, autonomous vehicles, and sustainability enable specialisation in cutting-edge technologies. The program combines rigorous theoretical teaching with extensive hands-on experience in laboratories and design environments, equipping graduates with the technical, analytical, and professional skills needed to excel in robotics, automation, and related engineering fields across industries such as manufacturing, aerospace, automotive, and renewable energy.
