COURSE CURRICULUM

The Electrical and Electronic Engineering degree provides a comprehensive foundation in the principles and applications of modern engineering technologies. In Year 1, students develop core knowledge through modules such as Electrical Circuits and Devices, Engineering Maths, Materials and Manufacturing Processes, and Programming for Engineers. They also study Electromagnetism, Electronic Devices, and Engineering Thermodynamics, applying theory through practical projects like the Global Design Challenge. In Year 2, the focus expands to include Digital Systems and Microprocessor Design, Power Electronics, and Electronic Circuit Design, supported by advanced mathematical training. Students also gain hands-on experience in communication systems, embedded systems, and control theory, while developing essential professional and managerial skills. In the final year, students apply their expertise to complex real-world problems through modules such as Business and Project Management, Control Engineering, Electrical Power Systems, and Smart Interactive Sensing Systems. The Individual Project provides the opportunity for independent research and innovation. Optional modules like Electrical Drive Systems, Programming in C++, and Radio to Optical Frequency Engineering allow students to specialise in areas of personal interest. Combining theoretical understanding, laboratory work, and project-based learning, the course equips graduates with the technical and problem-solving skills needed for careers in cutting-edge engineering and technology.
