COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc Data Science and Artificial Intelligence course offers a comprehensive curriculum that equips students with essential knowledge and practical skills needed to excel in the rapidly growing fields of AI and data science. The course begins with the Fundamentals of AI and Data Science, introducing key principles, techniques, and tools that underpin modern AI systems and data-driven solutions. Students then progress to the Introduction to Programming and Data Management module, where they learn core programming languages, data handling, and storage techniques, enabling them to process and analyse large datasets effectively.Another important module is Cloud Computing for Big Data, which explores how scalable cloud-based technologies can be used to manage, store, and analyse massive volumes of data. This module ensures students understand both the infrastructure and tools used in real-world data environments. The Deep Learning and Advanced AI Techniques module further deepens technical expertise, introducing neural networks, natural language processing, and advanced machine learning methods that are critical in building intelligent systems.The course culminates in a Masters Project, a significant piece of independent research or practical application that allows students to demonstrate their learning, explore a specialised topic, and develop a solution or insight under academic supervision.
