COURSE CURRICULUM

The BSc (Hons) Computer Science degree offers a comprehensive and structured curriculum that evolves over three years, providing students with a solid foundation in key areas of computing while allowing flexibility through optional modules. In the first year, students are introduced to the fundamentals of computing, networking and cyber security, web design, programming, and artificial intelligence and data science. These modules establish the core principles and essential skills required for further study and future employment in the field. The second year builds upon this foundation with requisite modules in software engineering, databases, and advanced programming and data structures, helping students enhance their coding proficiency and understanding of complex systems. Optional modules such as advanced web development, machine learning, and security testing enable students to begin tailoring their education according to specific interests and career goals. In the final year, all students undertake a major final project that showcases their technical abilities and problem-solving skills. Alongside this, a wide range of optional modules is available, including AI and data science applications, cyber-physical security, mobile development, cyber forensics and intrusion management, distributed systems and cloud computing, and advanced artificial intelligence. This extensive selection allows students to specialize in high-demand areas such as cyber security or artificial intelligence.
