COURSE CURRICULUM

The two-year Masters in Physiotherapy provides a comprehensive curriculum designed to develop the knowledge, skills, and clinical competence required for professional practice. Students begin with modules on the fundamentals of safe and effective integrated physiotherapy practice, establishing a solid foundation in assessment, examination, and management. The course progresses through applied physiotherapy practice, covering the management of long-term conditions, multimorbidity, prevention, self-management, and rehabilitation, ensuring students can provide holistic care across diverse patient needs. Clinical practice placements are integrated throughout the program, offering hands-on experience in real-world healthcare settings and the opportunity to apply theoretical learning in practice. Students also engage in modules on research methods in health, equipping them with the skills to evaluate evidence and apply research to clinical decision-making. Further modules focus on managing complexity, communication, and behaviour in healthcare, alongside applied digital healthcare leadership and innovation, preparing graduates to navigate evolving healthcare environments and lead improvements in service delivery. The program culminates in a Masters dissertation, allowing students to undertake an in-depth research project, develop critical thinking, and contribute to the evidence base in physiotherapy.
