COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc Sport Management course offers a comprehensive program designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge necessary for leadership roles in the global sports industry. In the autumn semester, students engage with core modules including Principles of Management in Sport, Sport Finance, Research Methods for Sport, and Professional Practice. These modules provide a foundation in key management principles, financial decision-making, and applied professional skills, while also developing research capabilities essential for evidence-based practice in sport organisations. The course continues in the spring semester with advanced study in Sport Event Management and Sport Management and Marketing Challenges, allowing students to explore practical and strategic aspects of organising sports events, developing marketing strategies, and addressing real-world challenges faced by sport managers. Alongside these modules, students undertake a Research Project, which carries 60 credits and spans the academic year, enabling them to conduct independent research on a topic of relevance to sport management. This project encourages critical thinking, problem-solving, and the application of research methods learned earlier in the course. By combining theoretical learning with practical experience, the MSc Sport Management program prepares graduates for careers in sport administration, marketing, event management, and strategic roles within clubs, governing bodies, and other sport-related organisations, ensuring they are well-positioned to succeed in the rapidly evolving global sports sector.
