COURSE CURRICULUM

The first year of the MSc Media Management program provides a comprehensive foundation in both theoretical and practical aspects of media and creative industries. In the autumn semester, students study global creative industries and research methods, gaining essential skills in analysis and project planning. They also have the opportunity to choose an option module from a range of subjects, including managing international organisations, media relations and production, public relations theories, human information behaviour, and policy analysis, allowing them to tailor their learning to specific interests. The spring semester focuses on media regulation and policy and digital culture for media managers, equipping students with the knowledge to navigate complex media environments and digital transformation. Additional options such as visual communication design, business in Europe and emerging markets, digital video production, interactive media, and advertising provide further opportunities to develop practical expertise. The summer semester is dedicated to a dissertation project, giving students the chance to conduct independent research, apply their learning, and produce a substantial piece of work that demonstrates their understanding of media management and creative industry practices. Overall, the program integrates academic insight with hands-on experience, preparing graduates to take on leadership, consultancy, or entrepreneurial roles in media organisations worldwide, and to respond effectively to the challenges of the global media landscape.
