COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc International Conflict and Cooperation offers a comprehensive study of global conflict dynamics and international cooperation. In the autumn semester, students explore foundational concepts through modules in international conflict and cooperation analysis, international organisations, and approaches to international politics, providing a strong theoretical and analytical grounding. In the spring semester, the focus shifts to practical research skills with a compulsory module on researching international politics, alongside a choice of optional modules that allow students to specialise in areas such as transitional justice, human rights atrocities, the intersection of climate change and human security, and climate justice. These modules enable students to examine the complex interconnections between environmental, social, and political factors that contribute to global instability. The summer semester is dedicated to an independent dissertation, allowing students to apply their knowledge and research skills to a topic of their choice, producing an in-depth, evidence-based study. Throughout the program, students develop advanced analytical and research capabilities, preparing them for careers in government, international organisations, non-governmental organisations, and research institutions. The course combines theoretical insight, applied research, and policy-focused learning, equipping graduates with the expertise required to understand, analyse, and address some of the most pressing challenges in contemporary international relations.
