COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc Finance and Risk Management program provides students with a comprehensive understanding of finance while equipping them with the skills to assess and manage risk in complex financial environments. In the autumn semester, students begin with core modules including Corporate Finance, Quantitative Methods in Finance, Economics for Banking and Finance, and Bank Theory, Operations and Strategy, alongside a Flying Start Leadership program that develops essential professional skills. These modules establish a strong foundation in financial principles, analytical methods, and the functioning of banking systems. In the spring semester, the focus shifts to advanced topics such as Derivatives, Quantitative Financial Risk Analysis, and International Corporate Finance, giving students the tools to evaluate financial instruments and manage risk in global contexts. They can also tailor their learning through option modules such as Mergers and Acquisitions, Empirical Methods in Finance and Accounting, or investments in equity, fixed income, and alternative assets, allowing them to specialise according to career goals. In the summer semester, students complete a dissertation worth 40 credits, enabling them to conduct independent research and apply their knowledge to real-world financial challenges. This structured blend of theory, practice, and research ensures graduates are well-prepared for careers in finance, risk management, and banking.
