COURSE CURRICULUM

The Masters in Education program provides a comprehensive and critical approach to understanding key themes and challenges shaping the education sector today. In the autumn semester, students begin with core modules such as What is Education?, which explores the foundations and philosophies of the field, alongside Education and Social Justice, which examines inequality and the role of education in promoting fairness, and Research Design and Process, which equips students with the skills to undertake academic research. The spring semester builds on this foundation with compulsory modules like Education and Policy, where students investigate how educational policies are developed and implemented, and Curriculum: Concepts, Practices and Debates, which offers a deeper look into curriculum design and reform. Students also undertake a dissertation, allowing them to explore a topic of personal and professional interest in depth, applying research and critical analysis to an area of educational significance. In addition, the program provides flexibility through optional modules, with choices such as Curriculum Making for Climate Change and Sustainability Education, Pedagogies of Technology, and Educational Leadership, enabling students to tailor their learning to career goals.
