COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc in Digital Media and Communication provides a comprehensive curriculum that integrates theoretical knowledge with practical skills, preparing students for a range of careers in the digital industries. In the autumn semester, students build a strong foundation through compulsory modules in Human Information Behaviour, Research Methods, and Advanced Topics in Communication. These modules develop a critical understanding of how people interact with information, alongside advanced communication theories and research techniques. The spring semester allows for tailored study through a wide selection of optional modules, enabling students to specialise according to their interests and career goals. Options include areas such as Advanced Social Media Analytics, Visual Communication Design, Machine Learning, Digital Video Production, and Marketing Effectiveness. This flexibility ensures that students can focus on developing expertise in data-driven analysis, creative design, or technical production, depending on their chosen career path. In the summer semester, students consolidate their learning through an extended independent project. They can either complete a traditional dissertation or opt for a practice-based digital project, giving them the opportunity to apply their skills in research, analysis, or creative production. Graduates leave the program with versatile, interdisciplinary expertise, ready for roles in digital communication, media production, marketing, and beyond.
