COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Research in Humanities provides a structured pathway for students to develop advanced research skills and undertake a substantial independent project. In the autumn semester, students begin with foundational training through the module Training for Masters in the Arts and Humanities 1, which equips them with essential academic skills and contextual understanding. Alongside this, the Research Preparation 1 module introduces students to the principles of research design, methodologies, and critical approaches, preparing them for in-depth investigation. In the spring semester, the program continues with Training for Masters in the Arts and Humanities 2, building on the initial skills and deepening students’ understanding of advanced research techniques, academic writing, and critical analysis. Concurrently, Dissertation Preparation equips students with the tools and guidance needed to plan and structure their independent research projects, ensuring that they are ready to tackle complex questions and produce high-quality scholarly work. The summer semester is dedicated to the dissertation, a 100-credit module that represents the culmination of the program. Students engage in independent, in-depth research under the guidance of an academic supervisor, applying the methods, theories, and analytical skills they have developed throughout the year. This comprehensive approach ensures graduates are well-prepared for careers in academia, cultural institutions, or further postgraduate study, including PhD research.
