COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Research (MRes) in Business and Management provides a rigorous foundation in research philosophy, methods, and applied knowledge, preparing students for doctoral study or research-intensive careers. In the autumn semester, students begin with the Flying Start Leadership program alongside core modules in the Fundamentals and Philosophy of Management Research and Research Methods in Business and Management. They also choose an applied knowledge module from a diverse range of topics such as behavioural economics, bank theory and strategy, international management, business analytics, or the wider business context. The spring semester builds on this by examining the Evolution of Management and Organisational Research while offering flexibility through options in advanced research methods, including survey measurement and analysis or evidence-based decision making, as well as advanced applied knowledge modules covering areas such as diversity and inclusion, consulting, behavioural economics, or business in Europe and emerging markets. This structure allows students to tailor their learning to their academic interests and career goals while strengthening their analytical and methodological expertise. The summer semester is dedicated to an Independent Research Project, giving students the opportunity to design and execute a substantial piece of original research, applying theoretical and methodological skills to real-world business and management issues.
