COURSE CURRICULUM

The first year of the Master of Public Health (MPH) program provides a balanced combination of core knowledge, practical skills, and research training to prepare students for careers in public health. In the autumn semester, students complete compulsory modules in Public Health Practice, Global Health, and Research Methods in Health, each designed to build a solid foundation in understanding health systems, epidemiology, and research methodologies. These modules equip students to analyse public health challenges at both local and global levels and to design evidence-based interventions. In the spring semester, students continue their development through compulsory modules in Applied Epidemiology and Sustainability in Public Health, focusing on analysing population health data and implementing sustainable health initiatives. Additionally, students can select an optional module from the MPH options list to tailor their learning to specific interests, and they gain practical experience through modules such as Project Management or a Public Health Placement. This hands-on approach enables students to apply theory to real-world public health contexts, enhancing problem-solving and professional skills. The summer semester is dedicated to the Masters Dissertation in Health, a 60-credit project that allows students to conduct independent research under academic supervision. By combining theory, practical application, and research experience, the MPH program equips students with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to make meaningful contributions to public health policy, practice, and research.
