COURSE CURRICULUM

The Software Engineering course provides a comprehensive education in computing, combining theoretical knowledge with practical skills to prepare students for careers in software development and related fields. In the first semester, students study Introduction to Computing Science and Discrete Structures while selecting additional modules to broaden their knowledge. The second semester builds on programming and user interface design, with recommended modules in data science and mathematics. In the second year, students advance to Data Structures, Objects and Algorithms, and Database Principles and Applications, along with optional modules to explore areas such as genetics, aquatic environments, or scripting for data science. The semester continues with Programming Language Paradigms and Managing Information, giving students a solid foundation in software systems and data management. In the third year, the focus shifts to Software Engineering I and II, UX Design, Operating Systems, and optional modules including Machine Learning, Code Analysis, NoSQL Databases, Computer Games Development, and summer placements to gain industry experience. In the final year, students undertake a substantial Computing Science Project while studying Computer Security and Networks, alongside optional modules in Artificial Intelligence, Mobile App Development, Web Services, Distributed Data Systems, Natural Language Processing, and Computer Vision. This combination of core studies, electives, and practical projects ensures graduates are highly employable and ready for the evolving technology industry.
