COURSE CURRICULUM

The Psychology degree provides a comprehensive study of human and animal behaviour, combining theoretical understanding with practical experience. In the early stages, students are introduced to foundational concepts through modules such as Introductory Psychology, covering the basic principles of mind and behaviour. They also choose from a range of optional modules across disciplines, enabling a broad educational experience. The curriculum then progresses to more specialized areas, including the Social Mind, Brain and Behaviour, and Research Methods, which equip students with essential skills in scientific investigation and data analysis. Students explore cognition, social psychology, and individual differences to understand the diversity of human behaviour, while modules in developmental and clinical psychology provide insight into psychological growth and health-related issues. Practical experience is emphasized through work placements and hands-on activities, allowing students to apply theoretical knowledge in real-world contexts. In the final year, advanced topics in psychology deepen expertise in selected areas, and the Psychology Research Project offers an opportunity to undertake an independent, in-depth study under supervision. Overall, the program fosters critical thinking, analytical skills, and scientific literacy, preparing graduates for a wide range of careers in psychology, research, health, and related fields, as well as for further postgraduate study.
