COURSE CURRICULUM

The International Business and European Languages degree is designed to equip students with a combination of language skills and business knowledge, preparing them for global careers. In the first year, students begin with introductory modules in French or Spanish alongside core business studies, such as the global business environment and management fundamentals, while also choosing from optional modules in accounting, economics, law, politics, or a second language. The second year develops language proficiency through intermediate modules and enhances business knowledge with subjects like microeconomics, finance, sustainability, and the organisation of business. Students also study the biosphere, statistical techniques, and field skills, integrating practical and theoretical understanding. The third year focuses on international business, advanced language study, and intercultural skills for employability, with options for a study abroad semester and independent research projects in French or Spanish. Students may also choose modules in economics, finance, law, or politics to deepen their knowledge of global business environments. In the final year, students advance to higher-level language skills, strategic management, and business modules such as business in Europe and emerging economies. Optional modules allow further specialisation in economics, finance, law, or workplace psychology, ensuring graduates are prepared for diverse careers in international business, trade, or multinational organisations.
