COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc Robotics and Automation program is structured over three semesters to provide a thorough grounding in robotics, automation, and intelligent systems, combining theoretical knowledge with practical application. In Semester One, students study Automation and Robotics, exploring the principles, design, and operation of automated systems, alongside Mechatronics, which integrates mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems to create advanced robotic solutions. Semester Two builds on this foundation with Artificial Intelligence, where students examine AI techniques, algorithms, and their applications in robotics, and Mobile Robotics, which focuses on the development and deployment of autonomous and mobile robotic systems in various real-world environments. These modules provide students with both the technical and analytical skills required to design, program, and control intelligent robotic systems. Trimester Three is dedicated to the MSc Project or Dissertation, allowing students to undertake an independent research or practical project that applies their knowledge and skills to a specific robotics or automation challenge. Throughout the program, students gain hands-on experience, problem-solving abilities, and exposure to emerging technologies, preparing them for careers in robotics research, development, and industrial application. Graduates leave with the expertise to contribute to innovation, efficiency, and automation across sectors such as manufacturing, healthcare, transport, and service industries.
