COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc Real Estate and Property Management program is structured over three trimesters to provide a comprehensive understanding of property valuation, management, and development. In Trimester One, students study Valuation 1 and Valuation 2, developing essential skills to assess the value of land, buildings, and property assets, alongside Building Law Principles, which provides knowledge of the legal frameworks and regulations governing property and construction. Property and Asset Management introduces strategies for managing real estate portfolios, focusing on operational efficiency, maintenance, and long-term value creation. Trimester Two builds on this foundation with Statutory Valuation, which explores regulatory compliance and legal requirements in property assessment. Plan Making for Place Shaping examines urban planning and development strategies, while Property Development provides insight into the processes, financial considerations, and risk management involved in delivering real estate projects. Building Efficiency and Pathology equips students with the ability to assess building performance, identify defects, and implement sustainable and efficient practices. Trimester Three is dedicated to the Dissertation, enabling students to undertake independent research on a relevant topic within real estate or property management, applying both theoretical knowledge and practical skills. The program combines academic learning with applied practice, preparing graduates for professional careers in property management, valuation, investment, and development, while equipping them with the technical, analytical, and strategic expertise required in a competitive industry.
