COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc Performance Analysis in Sport program offers a focused and practical curriculum designed to develop advanced analytical and professional skills for working in high-performance sport. In the first year, students study three key modules that integrate theory, technology, and applied practice. The Performance Analysis module provides a deep understanding of analytical methods used to evaluate and enhance athletic performance. Students learn to use performance analysis tools and software for video analysis, match assessment, and data interpretation to support coaches and athletes in decision-making. The Injury, Prevention and Performance Management module explores the relationship between training, injury risk, and performance optimisation. It teaches how data and monitoring systems can be applied to prevent injuries, manage workload, and improve recovery and long-term athlete development. The Dissertation module allows students to conduct independent research on a chosen area within performance analysis, applying scientific methods to address real-world issues in sport performance. This project strengthens critical thinking, problem-solving, and research skills, preparing students for professional roles or further academic study. Together, these modules provide a solid foundation for understanding, applying, and advancing performance analysis practices within elite and competitive sports environments.
