COURSE CURRICULUM

This postgraduate program is designed to enhance the professional knowledge, research skills, and clinical expertise of healthcare practitioners, enabling them to deliver high-quality, evidence-based care. In the first trimester, students engage with core modules in critically exploring professional practice and research methods, providing a foundation in analytical thinking, reflection, and methodological understanding. Optional modules in independent learning allow students to tailor their studies to specific interests and career goals, deepening their expertise and developing skills directly relevant to their practice. During the second trimester, students continue to build on their research capabilities through advanced research methods while selecting from optional modules such as diabetes complications and care in marginalised groups, end-of-life care, evidence-based practice for patient care, project management, and additional independent learning opportunities. These options enable students to explore specialised areas of healthcare, improve patient outcomes, and apply theory to practical challenges in diverse clinical environments. In the final trimester, the dissertation provides an opportunity for in-depth investigation and application of research principles, allowing students to synthesise their learning, demonstrate critical analysis, and contribute new insights to their field. By completing this program, graduates develop the skills, knowledge, and confidence to implement evidence-based strategies, enhance service provision, and advance their careers in healthcare practice and leadership.
