COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc Gaming and Extended Reality (XR) program is structured across three trimesters, combining practical experience, research skills, and project development to prepare students for careers in gaming and immersive technologies. In the first trimester, Games and XR Lab I introduces students to the fundamentals of XR design and development, providing hands-on experience with virtual, augmented, and mixed reality technologies, while Creative Research Methods equips students with the skills to undertake rigorous research, analyse data, and develop evidence-based design solutions. The second trimester builds on these foundations through Games and XR Lab II, where students advance their technical and creative abilities, experimenting with complex interactive systems and immersive environments. Project Research and Proposal supports students in conceptualising and planning a substantial independent project, integrating research, design thinking, and technical skills. The final trimester is dedicated to the Final Project, allowing students to apply their accumulated knowledge and skills to develop a comprehensive XR experience or game, demonstrating creativity, technical proficiency, and professional readiness. This structure ensures graduates gain a balanced mix of theoretical insight, practical expertise, and research capability, preparing them to contribute innovatively to the rapidly growing XR and gaming industries and to pursue careers in design, development, digital media, and interactive technologies.
