COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc Forensic Psychology program is structured around a series of core modules that provide a comprehensive foundation in both theoretical knowledge and practical skills relevant to forensic psychology. Psychology of Criminal Behaviour and Investigation examines the psychological factors that contribute to offending behaviour, as well as investigative techniques used to understand and manage criminal actions. Research Methods in Psychology equips students with essential skills for designing, conducting, and analysing psychological research, providing a strong basis for evidence-based practice. Psychological Assessment and Applications focuses on the tools and techniques used to evaluate individuals in forensic contexts, including risk assessment, cognitive testing, and behavioural analysis. The Psychology of the Legal System and Courtroom explores the interaction between psychological principles and the justice system, addressing topics such as eyewitness testimony, jury decision-making, and expert witness practice. The program culminates in the Forensic Empirical Project, a substantial independent research project that allows students to apply their knowledge and skills to a real-world forensic psychology problem, demonstrating their ability to conduct rigorous investigation and critical analysis. Together, these modules ensure that graduates develop a deep understanding of the psychological, legal, and social dimensions of criminal behaviour, as well as the research and practical competencies required to pursue careers in forensic psychology, criminal justice, and related professional fields.
