COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc Financial Technology program is structured around a series of core modules designed to equip students with both technical and theoretical expertise in modern finance. Financial Models, Markets and Instruments provides an understanding of financial products, market dynamics, and investment strategies, forming a foundation for applied financial analysis. Financial Programming and Technologies with Python introduces programming skills essential for analysing and processing financial data, while Economic and Regulatory Environment examines the economic principles, policies, and regulatory frameworks that govern financial institutions. Innovations in Finance explores emerging trends and technological advancements reshaping the financial sector, and Business Intelligence using Power BI teaches students to visualise and interpret data for informed decision-making. FinTech Data Analytics focuses on applying data science techniques to financial datasets, enabling predictive analysis and strategic insights. Upon completion of these core modules, students undertake a substantial 60-credit project, choosing between a Practical Project, Practical Project (Placement), or Practical Project (Internship), allowing them to apply their learning in a professional or simulated environment. This combination of theoretical knowledge, technical training, and hands-on experience ensures that graduates develop the analytical, programming, and strategic skills necessary to innovate within financial services, manage technology-driven finance solutions, and pursue careers in fintech, financial analysis, and data-driven decision-making.
