COURSE CURRICULUM

The Enabling Social Change program is structured around a series of core modules designed to provide both theoretical knowledge and practical skills for understanding and influencing social transformation. The Understanding Social Change module introduces students to key concepts, frameworks, and theories that explain how societies evolve and respond to challenges, while Making Change Happen focuses on the strategies, tools, and processes necessary to drive meaningful social impact. Applied Research for Practice equips students with the research skills required to investigate social issues rigorously, analyze data, and apply findings to real-world contexts, ensuring that interventions are evidence-based and effective. The program culminates in the Social Sciences Postgraduate Dissertation, where students undertake an independent research project, integrating their learning and demonstrating their ability to address complex social problems. In addition to these core modules, students have the opportunity to select an optional module from the broader suite of postgraduate courses, such as Changing Lives: Living with Justice and Injustice, which explores the social implications of justice systems, or Supporting Research: Leadership and Impact, which develops skills in leading research initiatives and influencing policy. This structure ensures that graduates acquire a balanced combination of theoretical understanding, practical application, and research expertise, preparing them to contribute effectively to social policy, advocacy, and applied research, both locally and internationally.
