COURSE CURRICULUM

The program in health and social care education is structured across three trimesters, providing a blend of theoretical knowledge, practical skills, and research experience to develop effective educators and leaders. In the first trimester, students focus on Critically Exploring Professional Practice, examining contemporary issues, challenges, and best practices in health and social care education, alongside Research Methods, which equips them with the tools to design, conduct, and evaluate rigorous research projects. The second trimester emphasizes Education Principles and Practice, allowing students to apply educational theories and evidence-based approaches to real-world teaching and learning contexts. Students may also choose from optional modules, including Independent Learning, which supports the development of self-directed study and professional growth, and Emerging Themes in Education, which explores innovative and current trends shaping educational practice. The final trimester is dedicated to the Dissertation, an independent research project where students integrate their learning and critically investigate a topic of personal or professional interest. This structure ensures that graduates develop a strong foundation in educational theory, research skills, and applied teaching practice, as well as the ability to critically reflect on and enhance professional practice.
