COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc Biomedical Science program is structured to provide a comprehensive understanding of human disease, modern research methods, and practical laboratory skills, preparing students for advanced careers in biomedical science and healthcare. In the first trimester, students develop essential scholarly skills while studying pathologies of human disease, genomics, and immunology and haematology, providing a strong foundation in the biological mechanisms underpinning health and disease. The second trimester focuses on research design and delivery, equipping students with the ability to plan, conduct, and critically evaluate scientific investigations. Students also explore inflammation and cardiovascular disorders, infectious disease control, and professional practice, bridging theoretical knowledge with practical application and industry-relevant competencies. In the final trimester, students undertake an independent research project, allowing them to apply advanced laboratory techniques, experimental design, and data analysis to a real-world biomedical question.
