COURSE CURRICULUM

The MA Screen Acting program is structured over three trimesters to provide a comprehensive blend of performance, production, and industry-focused skills. In Trimester One, students study Performing for the Camera, developing screen acting techniques across film, television, and digital platforms, while Production Skills for Media Performance equips them with the technical knowledge to produce high-quality self-tapes, digital films, and showreels. Trimester Two focuses on Art and Industry, offering insight into the professional and business aspects of screen acting, including networking, industry standards, and professional practice. The Digital Collaboration Project allows students to engage in practical, team-based media projects, integrating acting, production, and digital technologies, and fostering collaborative problem-solving skills relevant to the creative industries. Trimester Three is dedicated to the Final Research Project, enabling students to undertake independent research or a practical project that synthesizes their learning and showcases their abilities in performance and production. Throughout the program, students have access to professional-standard TV studios and equipment, as well as opportunities to work with motion-capture technology, computer-generated imagery, and voice work for animation and games. By the end of the course, graduates are equipped with advanced screen acting skills, production expertise, and industry-ready experience, prepared to pursue careers across film, television, digital media, and performance sectors.
