COURSE CURRICULUM

The MA Production Management for TV, Film and Digital Media program is structured over three semesters to provide a blend of theoretical knowledge, practical skills, and independent research. In the first semester, students study Production Management for Factual Programming, gaining expertise in planning, organising, and managing documentary and factual content, alongside Line Producing for Drama, which focuses on the specific demands of drama production, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource coordination. Semester two introduces Production Management for Studio, where students develop the skills necessary to manage live and studio-based productions, while Creative Entrepreneurial Practice encourages innovation, business acumen, and the development of professional skills for the media industry. The final semester is dedicated to the Major Project, where students undertake either a Practice Research Project or a Dissertation, applying their knowledge and practical experience to an in-depth investigation or creative project within production management. Across all semesters, the program emphasizes hands-on learning, problem-solving, and professional development, preparing students to navigate the complexities of TV, film, and digital media production. By combining industry-focused modules with independent research, graduates leave equipped with the practical expertise, strategic understanding, and professional confidence required to pursue advanced roles in production management and related media careers.
