COURSE CURRICULUM

The MA Film Production program is structured around a set of core modules that combine theoretical knowledge, practical experience, and professional development to prepare students for careers in contemporary filmmaking. Established and Innovative Practices introduces students to a range of traditional and emerging approaches to film production, enabling them to understand industry standards while exploring new paradigms in storytelling and creative practice. Collaboration and Co-creation emphasizes teamwork and interdisciplinary cooperation, reflecting the collaborative nature of professional film production and equipping students with essential skills in communication, project management, and creative problem-solving. These modules encourage students to work closely with peers, industry professionals, and external partners to develop innovative projects and experiment with emerging workflows and technologies. The program culminates in the Major Project, which combines a Practical Project with a professional portfolio. This final module allows students to integrate their learning, undertake independent creative work, and produce a substantial body of work that demonstrates their technical proficiency, artistic vision, and professional readiness. By combining research, experimentation, and hands-on production experience, the program ensures that graduates leave with a comprehensive skill set, a distinctive creative voice, and the adaptability required to succeed in the rapidly evolving film industry, contributing innovatively to contemporary storytelling and media production.
