COURSE CURRICULUM

The Law with Criminology degree offers a comprehensive program that combines legal study with an in-depth exploration of criminology, preparing students for careers in law, criminal justice, and related fields. In the first year, students build a solid foundation in core legal subjects such as contract law, tort law, criminal law, public law, and digital legal skills, alongside an introduction to criminology, criminal justice, and human rights. In the second year, the curriculum advances to more specialised legal and criminological topics, including European Union law, land law, theoretical criminology, and optional modules covering areas such as media law, commercial and consumer law, critical perspectives on policing, environmental justice, and violence in society. The third year integrates practical and advanced studies, with modules such as criminal justice and punishment, equity and trusts, and law in action, alongside a wide range of optional law and criminology modules, allowing students to tailor their studies to their interests. Optional modules include AI and law, medical law and ethics, civil and criminal litigation, gender and crime, probation and rehabilitation, migration and socio-legal dynamics, and prisons and punishment. Throughout the degree, students develop analytical, research, and professional skills, gaining both theoretical knowledge and practical experience to succeed in the legal and criminal justice sectors.
