COURSE CURRICULUM

The Sport Rehabilitation degree offers a comprehensive blend of academic study and practical training, preparing students to assess, treat, and rehabilitate musculoskeletal injuries arising from sport and physical activity. In the first year, students build a strong foundation through modules such as Foundation Human Form and Function, Foundation Therapy Skills, and Foundation Exercise and Conditioning, which develop essential knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and basic rehabilitation techniques. This is complemented by Applied Human Form and Function, Intermediate Therapy Skills, and Applied Exercise and Conditioning, allowing students to begin applying their learning in practical contexts. In the second year, students advance their expertise through Professional Practice 1, Applied Therapy and Rehabilitation Skills, and Advanced Exercise and Conditioning, focusing on evidence-based approaches to rehabilitation and enhancing clinical competence. The year also includes Evidenced-Based Practice in Sport Rehabilitation, emphasizing research-informed methods and critical thinking skills. The final year consolidates learning through Professional Practice 2, Advanced Therapy Skills, and Applied Research in Sport Rehabilitation, providing extensive hands-on experience and preparing students to work confidently in real-world clinical settings. Throughout the course, students are supported in developing both technical and professional skills, ensuring they graduate equipped to enter the sports rehabilitation field with competence, confidence, and the ability to make a meaningful impact on athlete health and performance.
