COURSE CURRICULUM

The BSc (Hons) Real Estate Development and Management program provides students with a comprehensive understanding of the property sector, combining theoretical knowledge with practical application. In the first year, students build foundational skills in economics and management, law and regulatory frameworks, property valuation, planning and development, building construction, and surveying practice. These core modules introduce the essential principles required for a career in real estate. In the second year, the focus shifts to more advanced topics, including valuation, property management and lease advisory, planning, conservation and urban regeneration, environmental impact and sustainability, development appraisal and viability, and property law. These modules equip students with the technical expertise and analytical skills necessary to assess and manage property assets effectively. In the final year, students consolidate their learning through modules on infrastructure development and spatial planning, advanced valuation, strategic asset management, statutory valuation, and a real estate project, along with a discipline research project. This combination of practical and research-based learning ensures graduates are prepared for professional roles within the real estate industry. The program develops transferable skills such as critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication, enabling students to pursue careers in valuation, property management, development, and planning, while providing a pathway to professional recognition and industry accreditation.
