COURSE CURRICULUM

The BSc (Hons) Quantity Surveying program provides students with a comprehensive education in managing the financial, technical, and managerial aspects of construction projects. In the first year, students build foundational knowledge through modules covering law and regulatory frameworks, economics and management, construction technology, and the core principles of quantity surveying in both private and commercial practice. They also engage in discipline-based projects that develop practical problem-solving and project management skills while introducing them to the professional responsibilities of a quantity surveyor. The second year deepens this expertise with modules in construction process management, construction economics, procurement and administration, and advanced quantity surveying practices, alongside multi-disciplinary projects that simulate real-world construction challenges, fostering teamwork and applied learning. In the final year, students consolidate their skills through advanced modules in construction law and dispute resolution, risk and value management, sustainable design, and a research project, alongside further practical quantity surveying projects. This progression ensures graduates are industry-ready, with the analytical, technical, and professional skills required to succeed in a variety of roles within the construction and built environment sectors. By integrating theory, practice, and professional standards, the program equips students to contribute effectively to construction projects, ensuring cost efficiency, legal compliance, and sustainable outcomes in both local and global contexts.
