COURSE CURRICULUM

The Adult Nursing degree is structured to provide students with a comprehensive blend of theoretical knowledge, practical skills, and professional development across three years of study. In the first year, students are introduced to adult nursing through modules such as Introduction to Adult Nursing, Transdisciplinary Science, and Voices and Choices, alongside their first practice module, which begins to immerse them in clinical environments. This foundation helps students develop essential nursing knowledge, communication skills, and an understanding of patient-centered care. In the second year, the focus shifts to Adult Field Specific Care Needs, Leading Adult Nursing, and Evidence-Based Interventional Nursing, supported by a second practice module. This stage allows students to build confidence in applying nursing theory in real-world settings, responding to complex patient needs, and working effectively within multidisciplinary teams. The third year emphasizes autonomy, leadership, and professional excellence through modules such as Being an Autonomous Adult Practitioner, Being an Inspiring Adult Practitioner, and advanced practice modules. Students refine their clinical decision-making, leadership, and reflective practice skills, preparing them for the responsibilities of professional nursing. Throughout the course, practical placements complement academic learning, ensuring graduates are equipped to provide high-quality, compassionate, and evidence-based care and to register as qualified adult nurses with the Nursing and Midwifery Council.
