COURSE CURRICULUM

The Interior Architecture degree at Salford is structured to provide a comprehensive learning experience that combines practical design skills, technical knowledge, and theoretical understanding. In the first year, students are introduced to core design principles through modules such as Design Studio 1A and Interior Architecture Design Studio 1B, alongside History and Theory 1, Design Technology 1, and Practice 1. This foundation develops creativity, spatial awareness, and an understanding of the historical and cultural context of architecture. In the second year, students advance their skills with Interior Architecture Design Studios 2A and 2B, supported by Design Technology 2 and History and Theory 2. Practice 2 focuses on multidisciplinary projects, enabling students to collaborate with peers and apply design principles to real-world challenges. By the third year, students consolidate their learning in Interior Architecture Design Studio 3 and Practice 3, tackling complex design briefs and professional-level projects. Complementary modules, including Ideas and Issues in Interior Architecture and Design Technology 3, further develop analytical thinking, research skills, and technical expertise. Across all three years, the program emphasizes the integration of creativity, functionality, and sustainability, preparing graduates to enter the field of interior architecture with the confidence, knowledge, and professional skills required to design innovative and practical spaces in urban environments and beyond.
