COURSE CURRICULUM

The Human Biology and Infectious Diseases degree offers a comprehensive exploration of the biological sciences with a focus on human health and disease. In the first year, students build a solid foundation through modules such as Molecules to Microbes, Genetics, Human Anatomy, Cell Biology, Biological Skills, and Study Skills, equipping them with essential knowledge and practical laboratory experience. The second year expands into more specialized areas, including Molecular Genetics, Introduction to Parasitology and Infectious Diseases, Human Physiology, Pathophysiology, Microbial Communities and Interactions, and Biological Research Skills, allowing students to deepen their understanding of the mechanisms underlying health and disease. In the third year, students focus on advanced topics such as Human Genetics and the Biology of Parasites, while choosing optional modules like Advances in Pathophysiology, Clinical Immunology, Antimicrobial Resistance, or Veterinary and Zoonotic Infectious Diseases to tailor their learning to their interests and career goals.
