COURSE CURRICULUM

The BSc Computer Science with Cyber Security program is a three-year degree designed to equip students with both core computer science knowledge and specialist skills in cyber security. In the first year, students build a strong foundation through modules in programming, database systems, computer system internals and Linux, web development and human-computer interfaces, and professional development, developing essential technical and professional skills. The second year advances students’ expertise with modules in client-server systems, data structures, networking and security, AI and data mining, and software projects using Agile techniques, alongside career development support, enabling students to apply theoretical knowledge in practical contexts. In the third year, the focus is on advanced cyber security topics, including cyber investigation, malware and exploit analysis, and information security management, complemented by an individual project that allows students to demonstrate problem-solving and technical judgement in real-world scenarios. Optional modules such as mobile development, business management, virtual reality and 3D games, deep learning, and advanced web development provide opportunities for further specialization and career-focused learning. Throughout the program, students develop critical thinking, analytical skills, and hands-on experience, ensuring they are prepared to address modern cyber threats. Graduates leave with a combination of computer science expertise, cyber security knowledge, and professional awareness, ready for careers in ethical hacking, information security, network protection, and other technology-driven roles.
