COURSE CURRICULUM

This MA Education programme provides advanced training in educational research, theory, and practice, helping students develop the skills needed to critically evaluate and contribute to the field of education. The core modules build a strong foundation in research methods and analysis. Investigating Education introduces key approaches to educational research, enabling students to evaluate studies and understand research design and methodology. Analysing Research Data in Education develops practical skills in both quantitative and qualitative data analysis, preparing students to interpret educational data and conduct their own small-scale empirical research. The Dissertation allows students to undertake independent research on a chosen topic, demonstrating their ability to design, conduct, and present original academic work. Optional modules enable students to tailor their studies according to their interests and career goals. These include Child Development and Education, which explores theories of child development and their implications for learning; Education for Social Sustainability, which examines global challenges and the role of education in promoting sustainability; Future Leaders in Education, focusing on leadership and policy analysis; Families and Learning, which explores sociological and psychological influences on education; Educating Diverse Groups, addressing inclusion and special educational needs; and The Creative Educator, which explores creativity and innovation in teaching. Overall, the programme prepares graduates for careers in teaching, leadership, policy, and educational research.
